Bazaar happenings in Risby

There was nothing bizarre about the PTA’s Christmas Bazaar on Friday (except perhaps the giant elf overseeing all the festivities from atop a table to ensure everyone stayed on Santa’s “nice” list).

There was a huge turnout, keeping everything buzzing. Parents from each year group came together to create a fantastic range of stalls offering everything from reindeer food, festive games, tombola and racing cars to glamorous nail painting, Christmas jumpers and gifts from the prestigious Elfridges stall.

The PTA and the school would like to say a very grateful thank you to all the parents, carers and extended family who donated and supported so generously! Everyone contributed in some way: through donating many of the items needed, ploughing time into planning and running stalls, tirelessly serving food and drink to keep the hungry hordes going and of course coming along and spending money to support the event.

An impressive £1,518 was raised, which will go towards continuing the improvements to the outside play areas at the school. Well done to everyone involved in what was a phenomenal joint effort across the whole school community to make the event a success. It’s impossible to declare a clear year group winner as parents were helping out across multiple year groups in the true spirit of koinonia, so we’ve decided a whole school reward is in order. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves, which in the end is the main goal and is another big step in bringing  our term to a joyful close.
